Carmel is a trauma-informed practitioner who has extensive experience supporting children and their families. Her work blends deep professional knowledge with lived experienced - especially around neurodivergence and mental health (including Autism, ADHD, sensory processing, and emotional regulation).

Carmel specialises in 'bottom-up' body based approaches to healing - because lasting change doesn't come from behaviour strategies and talking therapies alone, it also comes from nervous system safety, connection, and compassion.   

Carmel holds a BSc(Hons) Professional Social Work and has completed multiple postgraduate level courses and trainings including but not limited to, Neurofeedback, Emotion Coaching, Emotional Freedom Technique, Children and Young People's Mental Health, Attachment, Neurodevelopment, and Psychopathology, and she is currently completing a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies led by world renowned psychiatrist Dr Bessel van der Kolk. 

Carmel has personal experience of 'bottom up' techniques having first learned about them reading Dr Bessel van der Kolk's best selling book The Body Keeps the Score (2022). Carmel uses Neurofeedback and Emotional Freedom Technique on herself and her family to reduce symptoms associated with ADHD, ASD, and PTSD. Her experiences sparked her passion to share these techniques with as many people as possible. Carmel shared "these techniques are not widely known but have significantly changed my life. They offered hope when I felt hopeless".

Extensive experience working with this client group informs our approach, allowing the integration of various therapeutic modalities to meet the unique needs of each client.
